Paul Orchard
Account Manager, MacWarehouse
From supermarket shelf stacker to second highest sales performer at Macwarehouse, it’s been fun and games all the way for Paul.
"There's much more to this than shifting kit. It's a niche market, customer care's important, reputations spread fast. I look after 140 commercial Mac user accounts, from big ad agencies and international publishing groups to small bespoke outfits that want hardware, software and services solutions. The corporate world's calmer than retail. I like that. You could say the cut and thrust is a cut above in the Mac world. I mean it's a competitive market, and we compete a lot between our teams, but I get to build long term relationships with clients, educating them about new products and services, upselling only when I feel they'd genuinely benefit. My experience is that the money comes when I put my customers first, know their needs and meet them. I set my own standards, making sure I get back to any customer within two hours of their contact. They value this, and my product knowledge - I gained Apple Product Accreditation last year. I've been here 8½ years, and most people on my team have been here at least four. That should tell you something about the culture here. It has staying power."
